Pier 26 - A Playground Reimagined
Manhattan’s Pier 26 project features a 4,000 square foot marine-science focused playground where children will learn, play and be inspired by wildlife and the Hudson River Habitat. While the kids may never know the steps that went into this, we at ForeverLawn of South Jersey sure and proud of those details!

The playground was built on a concrete slab. The remaining build up consisted of 1’’ drainage mat. We then utilized 2’’-3.5’’ of our SafetyFoam Pro.
To exceed ADA requirements, we created a 1.75% slope tapered 6’ around the edge of the playground. Additionally, we custom manufactured 2’’ tall by 2’ diameter custom mounds to conceal metal brackets from the play equipment.
We also had to have a PlayMound customized to fit around a large playground footer. In fact, 21 custom PlayMounds were incorporated into the design
With all the previous challenges we still met all ASTM and IPEMA standards. A Tan EPDM rubber was installed to help us achieve that. Our other Playground Grass products can be customized to meet nearly any color request.
